The 34 artists of HISTORIES RECLAIMED are a conduit to new understandings. They share memories, good and otherwise, and speak to family, home and culture. They represent marginalized communities, celebrate unsung heroes and amplify little-known chapters of history. Our artists apply timeworn mythology to today’s world, show how it feels to walk in someone else’s shoes and envision a different, perhaps better future. And to do all this, our talented lineup paints and draws and does stitchwork. They reclaim and repurpose materials, create hand-cut and digital collages, and more.
