People ask me, “So why do you paint?” You might say I was born into the medium.
I grew up in an artistic family in New York. My father, a painter and designer, was a huge influence. He shaped how I viewed art-making from an early age. Going to museums and galleries was part and parcel of my youth.
But art remained just one aspect of my life. As I got older, I did dabble in creative pursuits but never took them seriously. Everything changed in the late 90s. I started by taking a few classes and fell in love all over again, when formal training met a passion deep inside. While traveling through France, I made a commitment, actively honing my skills through countless hours of plein air painting.
I moved to Philly after 9/11 and continued my training at PAFA. After years of painting for others, today I paint for myself. I am honored to have my art included in multiple national museums, as well as in many prominent art collections. All I ask is that you enjoy my art. That is enough.
