I am an analog collagist using non-traditional collage techniques paired with conventionally produced images. I cut, tear and transfer these images into reimagined collage art.
My art is influenced by viewed images (or elements) that leave a vivid mental imprint. They tend to haunt me until I take up the challenge of reconstructing them differently through the process of collage. My work comprises an examination of these elements and their effect on me and others who view them. Compelling images, backgrounds, shapes and colors become the framework for a collage that resembles the original elements, but once put together, creates a completely new perspective.
I encourage all to take time to view these collages and form their own opinions on what these pieces say to them — for art is always in the eye of the beholder.
