Coming of age is not a particularly original or complicated concept to incorporate within art. Acknowledging and examining the mundane lifestyle you have acquired during that growth is a bit of a harder pill to swallow.
Through my art, I investigate self-worth, femininity and the authenticity of our current time period. By incorporating current pop culture fads, art historical ideologies and forgotten yet iconic entertainment of the past, I am able to create artworks with variety — visually and evocatively.
In a world where influencers are booming, sizes are shrinking and everyone feels like the main character, I’ve found myself contemplating where a lackluster girl like me fits in. Luckily, I can confront these worries head on with the complex works I create.
